Distance Learning Expectations for Students, Parents and Teachers
Student Expectations: Grades PK-5
During Distance Learning:
- I will log onto my classroom at 9 AM daily for morning meeting and no later than 12 PM to be counted present for the day (special arrangements made with the teacher).
- I will follow the directions and complete the assignments.
- I will ask my family and teacher for help.
- I know my teacher’s will be on Google Classroom from 9am-4pm.
- I understand any work not submitted will count against my grade for the quarter.
Student Expectations: Middle School
During Distance Learning:
- I will log into my advisory class at 9 AM daily and no later than 12 PM for all my other subject classes to be counted present for the day (special arrangements with teacher).
- I will follow the directions and complete the assignments.
- I will ask my family and teacher for support.
- I know my teacher is online daily from 9-4 and I understand I can check into subject support time daily as needed.
- I understand any work not submitted will count against my grade for the quarter.
Parent Expectations
During Distance Learning:
- Be Prepared to support my children and to contact their teachers with any questions.
- Support students being logged into Google Classroom for morning meeting at 9 AM or no later than 12 PM daily or make special arrangements with the teacher.
- Have daily conversations with my children about their learning and help as needed.
What should I expect from my child’s teacher?
During Distance Learning:
- Be online week days from 9-4 to provide instruction and respond to questions.
- Be in contact with students and families on a regular basis.
- Provide read aloud time and independent reading suggestions.
- Provide suggestions for games or activities that will help understanding at home.
- Provide feedback and grading on completed class assignments.
